Super Smart Eye Shadow Hacks

“Do your eye shadow first, then your foundation. That way, you can clean up any mess without starting all over again” By Zooey Deschanel

Creating a marvelous eye look is not just the job of a professional makeup artist; you too can become perfect in this art by following our simple eyeshadow hacks.

Eyeshadow- As a Liner

Some people don’t even know that eyeshadow is the best substitute for a liner. It gives a perfect aesthetic appeal if applied with a damp liner brush.  This eyeshadow hack will work wonders specifically in a moist environment as all the powdered shades aren’t manufactured to withstand even with a single drop of water.  Moreover, a damp liner brush will also aid in giving a sharper blend like a liner.

As a Highlighter:

Highlighters have become the most vital part of a makeup; it not only gives a glowing shiny & refined look but also helps to emphasize your facial structures like your cheekbones or even your jawline. Highlighters & eyeshadows come in exactly the same formulas. So, you can use eye shadows instead if you really don’t want to spend extra money on buying a separate highlighter.

For this, you need to be very careful while picking up a color that is two shades lighter than your skin tone. Simply apply it to the higher parts of your face like cheekbones or bridge of your nose & blend away any extra lines.

Impacts of Darker & lighter Eyeshadows:

Some people are always mistaken while applying darker eyeshades on the inner side of eyelids & the lighter ones at the outside corner of an eye. This is absolutely against the rule. First, start with applying a lighter shade all over the lid & then apply a darker shadow at the outside corner of your eye. Blend it with an eyeliner for giving a perfect look. If your eyes are small, always prefer applying darker shades. It will enhance the overall look of your face.

At the end of the day, experimenting with eyeshadow and different application methods is a fun and relatively artistic way to play with your eyes!

Before using eye shadows, it’s recommended to use a primer for better finish. We recommend the NYX Professional Makeup Eyeshadow base for that purpose which is easily available on Amazon:

Tutorial: Master the Skill of Applying Flawless Lipstick

Lipstick is the essence of our traditional & casual makeups; it is indeed an art that can easily be mastered through some techniques. If you are one of those struggling to cope up with a quick fading lipstick or a lipstick that dries your lips & sometimes even end up on your teeth, then here is a quick guide to master this art perfectly.

The first and foremost step is to prepare your lips to avoid any flakiness. Exfoliate your lips by using a soft & damp toothbrush. Do not forget to apply a lip balm that will ultimately help in producing a smoother lip texture. A lip primer may also be used for achieving a long-lasting hydration & color stay.

If you want to get rid of an even lip tone, then use a base or concealer on your lips before applying any lipstick shades. Use a flat brush for applying compact powder to seal the base & bringing the true shades of lipsticks.

Majority of the women apply lipstick directly on their lips without using a lip liner. It not only results in quick fading but also results in broken edges of your lipstick. So, try to use a matching lip liner with your lipstick shades & carefully draw the outline to define your natural lip line.

Apply your lipstick by using a lip brush to cover the inner edges of your lips & intensify the color according to your needs. Now blend it precisely with your lip liner to give a perfect look. If you are using a matte lipstick, you can add some definitions like lip gloss to give a pouty look.
