In recent times, new faces have popped up in the Pakistani media industry. Naturally, the millennials are now taking the spotlight. While big names like Mahira Khan, Imaan Ali and Shaan are still relevant and will be for a while, I anticipate a lot of the new comers’ time in the limelight will be short-lived.
Enter Hania Aamir. This young woman of only twenty years of age has quickly rose to fame not only because of her adorable dimples but her incredible debut performance in the blockbuster Pakistani film, Janaan.
Being one of the younger A-list celebrities, Hania also knows her way around social media quite well and has a large fan base on Instagram that constantly keeps her relevant. I, personally, find at least two or three pictures of her on my Explore newsfeed even though I haven’t even followed her!
There’s just something about Hania that makes her special and is my Girl Crush for the month of December. The girl always seems so full of energy and vibrancy. She’s always on her feet and is now in the process of shooting an upcoming film Parwaaz Hay Junoon in which she is set to star besides big names like Hamza Ali Abbas and Kubra Khan.
Fun fact: for those who have been avidly following Hania even before her inception as an actress (even before her small role in the Sunsilk commercial!) know that she was popular on ask.fm and had a large following¬ based entirely on her witty answers – what an all-rounder!
Bold, festive and fashionable – three words that effectively describe the Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week.
The month of December is the prime wedding season in Pakistan. Getting three wedding invites on the same day this month isn’t rare and finding a darzi (tailor) that will stitch your wedding clothes in time is almost close to impossible. To celebrate this festive vibe in the cold winter air and to deliver some trendy new inspiration, the PHBCW 2017 was held in Lahore a few days back.
Major designers took the chance to flaunt their latest designs and top-notch models lit the ramp up. From Mawra Hocane to Uzma Hassan, the list of the celebrities that participated in the PHBCW is extensive.
While some designers went for a traditional approach in bridal wear – lehngas, gharara and shararas, others like Amina Yaseen took an entirely different trajectory altogether with a western gown-like bridal. The menswear line was not taken lightly either; Royal Tag, in particular, brought class to the ramp with a dark maroon tuxedo and a velvety bowtie to complement it. Lajwanti, on the other hand, went a little too eastern and gave a Mughal king impression.
Let’s not forget the highlight of the PHBCW – the appearance of a young girl in a school uniform clad in makeup and bridal accessories. This walk was a collaboration between Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio and the UN Women Pakistan Association to raise awareness and condemn child marriages. Kudos to the designer for using this fashion platform for a deeper, more important message!
Lipstick is the essence of our traditional & casual makeups; it is indeed an art that can easily be mastered through some techniques. If you are one of those struggling to cope up with a quick fading lipstick or a lipstick that dries your lips & sometimes even end up on your teeth, then here is a quick guide to master this art perfectly.
EXFOLIATE FOR A SENSATIONAL BLEND:
The first and foremost step is to prepare your lips to avoid any flakiness. Exfoliate your lips by using a soft & damp toothbrush. Do not forget to apply a lip balm that will ultimately help in producing a smoother lip texture. A lip primer may also be used for achieving a long-lasting hydration & color stay.
APPLYING A BASE:
If you want to get rid of an even lip tone, then use a base or concealer on your lips before applying any lipstick shades. Use a flat brush for applying compact powder to seal the base & bringing the true shades of lipsticks.
MAGIC OF A LIP LINER:
Majority of the women apply lipstick directly on their lips without using a lip liner. It not only results in quick fading but also results in broken edges of your lipstick. So, try to use a matching lip liner with your lipstick shades & carefully draw the outline to define your natural lip line.
FINALLY-IT’S YOUR LIPSTICK’S TURN:
Apply your lipstick by using a lip brush to cover the inner edges of your lips & intensify the color according to your needs. Now blend it precisely with your lip liner to give a perfect look. If you are using a matte lipstick, you can add some definitions like lip gloss to give a pouty look.

And while we are talking about lipsticks and their easy application, why not have a look at these lip glosses which are absolutely easy to apply 🙂

Hey everyone, hope you all are fine and refreshed after the Eid break, back to the boring daily routine.
Eid was hectic to say the least and due to all the regular application of heavy make up my skin was looking tired and asking for some attention. I have sensitive skin and it reacts quickly if I don’t follow the normal regime. Fortunately, my family understands that and among other Eid gifts, I also got L’Oréal Pure Clay Detox Mask which I decided to try.
It comes in ready to use packaging so all you need is to cleanse your skin and apply directly to your face. As I mentioned earlier, I have sensitive skin so I could feel a little tingling. So I would suggest a patch first to ensure it suits your skin. I left it for 15 minutes to dry and then washed it with normal water.
• It has a very good smell.
• It made my skin very clear and soft.
• It sucked out all extra oil and blackheads. It made my skin a bit dry so I applied moisturizer afterwards.
Verdict : I loved it and will be using it in the future!

According to our society’s standards a person is only beautiful if he or she has a fair skin tone. The people with dark skin tone mostly get bullied from their childhood by their friends, teachers, relatives and specially the old age aunties which are found in every family who have right to criticize every one’s appearance, these type of persons can find “a mole” on some one’s face but not beauty in the heart. God knows who gave them this right to judge a person like some show piece. Due to this fairness craze girls use different whitening creams which contain huge amount of mercury, steroids and other harmful chemicals, in the beginning these creams give you a fair colour and then after some time the skin condition get worse.
People out there listen to me very carefully; you are beautiful in your own way.
A pearl is pearl either it is black or white nothing can bring down its value. Your creator made you in the best form. And the people who humiliate you have an inferiority complex so they get satisfaction by laid down others. When someone can’t do something good by themselves then they criticize others who are better than them in any way.
If someone asks me ever where we can find beauty or what is beauty? I can easily say beauty is everywhere, beauty is in the world, beauty is in the white and beauty is in the black.
Love you All
